Loved the book. He explained the Meuse-Argonne battle day-by-day, Corps-by-Corps, from the right (Meuse River) to the left (Argonne Forest). He didn’t jump around as some have commented, he methodically covered what the Divisions experienced within each Corps.

EXACTLY what I was looking for in a book/5(68). Like his previous book about the 35th Division "Collapse in the Meuse-Argonne", this is a realtively short volume ( pp include voluminous end notes) and one wishes for more detail and length.

Nevertheless, "America's Deadliest Battle" is an excellent history of America in the Great War - events that are so little written about today/5(15). The great battle of the Meuse-Argonne was the costliest conflict in American history, w men killed and tens of thousands wounded.
